Name of the species. Scaeva pyrastri
Date of the observation. 15/08/2010
Grid reference. ST628 731
Location name. Troopers Hill Local Nature Reserve, St George, Bristol
Vice-county. 34 - West Gloucestershire
Other information. The habitat is acid heath and grassland on pennant sandstone. The hoverfly was on a tansy leaf . Image to be seen on http://www.troopers-hill.org.uk/events/10HF01.JPG. Identification confirmed by BrianH on the general discussion forum.
