Hi everyone .... at first sight, I thought this was S.pipiens, but I don't remember ever seeing such a 'hairy' specimen .... could this possibly be something else, such as Xylota tarda?

Hi, it looks like Xylota segnis, to me!
X tarda has darker markings!
And X segnis is much the commoner of the two,
occuring just about everywhere there are trees.
where as X tarda is linked to Aspen trees ( in my experience! )
