Torrential rain throughout the night and up to 10am meant a very wet dandelion field and potentially very wet knees.
The one advantage of a small, "manicured", flat dandelion field is that all of the flowers can be scanned from just a couple of vantage points.
The hovers stand out like a sore thumb.
There wasn't many either on the dandelions or the edge vegetation and with a constant drizzle it was best left for another day.
