The first real session at Dalton-le-dale ivy patch.
Enough in flower now to be attractive to a few hovers.
A nice three hour sit for 8 species.
By the time I got back to South Hetton the sun had disappeared and the drizzle had started.
This gave the opportunity for a very short ten minute look.

Episyrphus balteatus - male and female
Eristalis pertinax - male and female
Eristalis tenax - male and female
Eupeodes luniger - female Specimen retained
Melanostoma scalare - female
Platycheirus albimanus - female
Syrphus torvus - female Specimen retained
Syrphus ribesii - female Specimen retained
South Hetton. S. ribesii also seen and retained
Eristalis tenax - male
Eupeodes luniger - female
Platycheirus albimanus - male and female
Platycheirus manicatus - female Just caught this shot as it took off - enough for an ID though
