Dandelion field out out of the question with a southerly wind so a small hawthorn bush along the top edge of the fiels did for a couple of hours.
Specimens help of cheilosia, male Sphaerophoria and others.

Interesting to see Syrphus torvus - that has been off the radar for a while! I assume the Sphaerophoria interrupta is a specimen? |
