Shrewsbury area - 12 March 2007
Hurrah, amongst the usual early season Eristalis pertinax and E tenax today, were two Cheilosia grossa. Both were nectaring on Lesser Celandine flowers. March 12 is a nice early start to the season. I also had a Melanostoma scalare male in the kitchen at home on Sunday - March 10.
Excellent! Although the bad news is I still have not finished identifying and spreadsheeting all my 2006 stuff and 2007 is off the starting block . _________________ Nigel Jones
