I have attached a couple of pics of what I think is Helophilus pendulus, in my garden. Never seen those here before. The male was hanging around a grow-bag tray which has filled up with rainwater and various garden detritus. The female turned up and they mated, so hopefully there are youngsters in the tray now. No chance of me taking any more photos for a month or so as I have my right arm in plaster!

Hello Angie - the ID is correct - a pair of H. pendulus.
